New Ransom Jesus Church
New Ransom Jesus Church was birthed by divine instruction. In 2011, the Lord Jesus Christ gave Bishop Wilbert Williams of New Ransom Temple, Inc. (Greensboro, NC) a prophetic dream of a white building in Kansas City—a city he had never visited. The dream was so vivid that Bishop Williams rented a car the following week and drove 15 hours to Kansas City in search of what God had shown him.
During that journey, he met Brother James Michael Ervin. After one week of Bible study over the phone, Brother Ervin expressed his desire to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. Bishop Williams immediately returned to Kansas City to baptize him.
Following this, Bishop Williams instructed all of his deacons and their wives to apply for jobs in Kansas City. The couple who received job offers would be God’s chosen leaders for the new work. Deacon Brandon J. Richardson and his wife, Sister Danielle, were the only ones hired. In obedience to the call, Brandon relocated his family to Kansas City, and Bishop Williams appointed Deacon Brandon as Pastor.
The church began humbly in September 2011 in the living room of Brother Ervin’s home on 29th and Prospect. From that small beginning, New Ransom Jesus Church has continued to grow through prayer, holiness, and unwavering commitment to the Truth.
Salvation Through Acts 2:38
We teach and practice the Apostolic doctrine of salvation:
- Repentance
- Water baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ
- Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost
We do not baptize using the titles “Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,” but according to the scriptural command and apostolic example.
Holiness as a Lifestyle
We believe holiness is God’s standard for His people—externally, internally, and spiritually. We preach separation from sin, modesty, godly living, and obedience to the Scriptures.
The Power and Priority of Prayer
Prayer is essential for spiritual growth, direction, and maintaining a relationship with God. We emphasize consistent prayer in the church and in the home.
Biblical Order in Leadership
According to 1 Timothy 2:11–13 and 1 Timothy 3:1–13, we believe that pastoral and leadership roles within the church are reserved for men. Women serve faithfully in many areas of ministry but do not hold preaching or governing positions.
Separation From Pagan Practices
We do not celebrate holidays rooted in pagan traditions, including Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and Valentine’s Day. We strive to honor God in purity and truth rather than cultural customs.
New Ransom Jesus Church stands apart in Kansas City because we are a ministry built on uncompromising truth and genuine spiritual care. We boldly preach holiness, uphold the Apostles’ doctrine, and teach salvation according to Acts 2:38—repentance, water baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
At the same time, we maintain a warm, family‑centered atmosphere where every soul is known, valued, and supported. We believe in personal connection, accountability, and teaching that transforms lives. Our commitment to prayer, holiness, and biblical order shapes a community where believers can grow, be discipled, and walk in the fullness of Christ.
We are a church where truth is lived, love is shown, and Jesus Christ is exalted above all.
